Overview
The Infantry Senior Sergeant supervises, leads or participates in Infantry activities that support combat operations and employ individual small arms or heavy anti-armor crew-served weapons.
Job duties
- May serve as principal NCO in unit
- Provide tactical and technical guidance and professional support
- Make recommendations to superiors
- Plan, coordinate and supervise operations activities
- May be responsible for a unit's individual skills training program
Training
Soldiers who enlisted as 11B Infantryman or 11C Mortarman may reclassify as 11Z after holding the key developmental position of First Sergeant and meeting all prerequisites.
